Hughes & Kettner 20th Anniversary Edition Tube Amp
Cheese and rice this tube amp is just lovely. My friend picked one up a while back and i just went to see him play live a couple of weeks back and I almost fell off of my seat when he started playing. He has a PRS guitar and just uses the amp with a foot switch to switch between channels and a little delay to fatten his sound as he is the only guitarist in the band, but no other effects. Spring reverb and an amazing fat clean tone and a beautiful crisp distortion. I scoured the Internet for the next week and just got one in a few days ago and let me tell you every guitar sounds amazing through it. I must say however my rainbow and session can make the angels cry on the clean channel. The prestige and thunder are just amazing on the distortion channel. If anyone is looking for a fantastic amp at a great price I highly suggest this amp. The 25th anniversary is not the same so don't be fooled. And since it is a German made amp I would guess that all of you lucky enough to hail from that side of the world can easily find one. I paid about $460 US delivered and I will never play another tube amp for classic rock or jazz. I have a whole rack rig and a Marshall half stack for rock and metal but no effects will ever sully this beauty. The only other tube amp that I remotely liked was the Vox AC30 but this thing blows it away for my ear. Anyone looking I strongly advise trying this gem out before you buy anything. Now if only Hughes & Kettner would endorse me...Hmmmmmmm...I wish.
