G'day Mark - any case that will take a strat will swallow your Thunder, I would guess - I've recently 'discovered' the new wave of hard cases for my uncased guitars - the ones that are made of high density foam with a canvas or nylon outer covering - and think they're wonderful! Look into them as they are cheap as chips and very good at what they do! Smile

Hi Mark, Smile

I've got my Thunder I in an LP style hard case and it is a perfect fit! I bought a 'Kinsman' one which was reasonably cheap and it does the job but any LP style case will do!

P.s. Have you tidied your room?
lol! lol!

Yep, I too have got my Thunder 1 in what I believe is an LP hardcase (apparently it was the guitarist's out of Black Grape, if you've heard of them), and it fits fine. Unlike my Spectrum DX which is a bit too long in the neck. Must find a case for that one..

I got my case in a second hand instrument shop here in Manchester, the same one coincidentally where I found my Yamaha 12 (now 6) string after it had been stolen about 16 years ago...

I hope the guitarist out of Black Grape knew his case was for sale in there !!

PS will you bring those dirty dishes from your bedroom, for the last time !!

heya, mark - the one I have is a CNB brand and is very robust but light as when empty. As you can see, depending on the guitar - this is an Electra Phoenix - you may have to do a little surgery on the foam to get a really neat fit, but that is no problem either!!

This one is my gig case now and takes all of my guitars apart from from the VA900 which is too long in the neck, and the GT bass; it even takes the Clipper and the Genesis with their canted back headstocks, so it's pretty versatile, eh!! I have CNB flightcases as well but find that for general use these are indeed the 'ducks guts'!! Good luck with the hunt...
