Were Commodore guitars made by Mat?

Post by Steve777 on Wed Aug 04, 2010 5:31 am

There was a link or a thread some while back to a definitive? list of guitars / brands that were crafted by Mat that I now cant find! Can anyone provide that link please.

A friend of mine has just bought a Commodore 335 replica and the seller claims it was made by Mat. The basis for this, as I understand, it is that the Commodore is very similar to the Aria TA 335's of the period. I'm in no doubt that this is a period piece but was it made by Mat and for who?

I don't know about that - was the discussion over at matsumoku.org? - , Steve but I have a Commodore lap steel that was made in NZ in the 1960s/ or early 70s...

FWIW, an after market esoteric nut is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, and a great way to convert your money into someone else’s.
