Posting Pic's with WWW.serving.com using your own photo library

Post by fish on Sat Feb 26, 2011 8:19 pm

I wondered why posting Pics seemed to be a problem & why most instructions say use Photobucket etc. when you have a perfectly good photo library of your own.

I'm on a Mac & the WWW.Serving.com window works for me, if your on PC, as everything is set up for PC it should be even easier.

Write you post in the Topic window, select & click on the ''Host an image'' button at the top of the window, it brings up the WWW.serving.com window.

It will ask you to register with WWW.serving.com, register. After that, short of sign in when it asks, you wont need go to its site again. Pop its window up again if its closed & click ''browse'' your photo library should come up, choose an image & open it. I usually drag the photos I want to use to my desktop before hand & browse them there.

The WWW.serving window will show your URL in the box, click ''Host it'' & wait it may take 25 seconds or so. When you see the three URLs show in its window click the midle ''copy'' button. Click the ''Host an image'' button at the top of the post a topic window to close of the WWW.serving window.

Position your cursor where you want the image to come in your post, Click your past button & the URL will appear below your text, when you Preview your post your image will show with your text. To post another image click ''upload'' at the bottom of the WWW,serving window to to clear the URLs & start again.

Then go & have a nice cup of tea or something a little stronger if your inclined too. cheers

This is not part of the Westone forum but a separate hosting site. It's no different from Photobucket or any other similar service. you still need to register, upload, etc...

It all comes down to individual preference as to where you want to host your pix. Photobucket happens to be one of the more mature services out there with many options and very little ad intrusion and no annoying pop ups!
