Newest Edition...

Post by nasticanasta on Sun Mar 04, 2012 1:57 pm

Just purchased a '93 Marshall 1987x head, killer tones...this is before they started putting FX loops in it...it's right up there with my 77 JMP 50w.

Gibson SG and ESP MH-250..through a Bugera 4x12 fitted with 4 Ted Weber speakers this cab makes everything sound great! I might as well say I'm thinking of selling my Trevor Rabin Signature Series III with EMG 81/SA/SA and a Westone case. I don't play it as much as my ESP's or SG.

Don't SG's sound amazing?! I've got a '61 Reissue that sounds the bomb. Although I've tried to trade it for an X390, I do love it. Laughing

Nice score on the Marshall. You'll have no problem selling the Trevor Rabin, I'm sure of that.

Mine's a 94 Special with ebony fretboard, no offense to Westone collectors but do NOT trade that SG for a 390...you won't get those growling tones out of a 390! My first "real" guitar was a 64 Gibson Melody Maker 2 Pup. It was nice to have one again.

You're right about the growl. There's just something about the simple slab body SG.

Great guitar design, possibly the ultimate rock tone machine. Always reminds me of a big mahogany tuning fork! Never could bond with them though. Something not right in the feel for me.

Great score Nasti! What goes better with a Gibson, eh? Answer: not much.

That's cool you know Harrisburg. Hard to believe it's the capitol of Pennsylvania, isn't it! Don't seem like it. I like it here, but then again I live on the outskirts (my Wife and I live only 1 mile from Hershey, the cholocate place). I'd moved to Dallas for college but moved back to the 'burg after 6 yrs. No place like home, eh?

Ya I love it...I may not sell the TRS..I do love that guitar, it plays so fast!....lol I am truly in a quandary over selling it... I kinda need the money...I've been on a spending spree and this Marshall will be my last buy for a long time....'course that's what I said last time!

Sg's are great. Like a Les paul but much brighter.

I love them when I am standing up but when sitting down, the way they sit on your lap, I am too far away from the first fret and that throws me off a bit!.

Hoax

P.S. Nice Marshall Nasti !!

Weird eh? That's exactly how I feel too!
I haven't really yet figured out what causes that effect, but it seems like I'm playing a giraffe. Other than that it sounds great and it's a relative feather weight compared to the LP.
