Phoenix X185

Post by blackstrat on Mon Jul 16, 2012 7:29 pm

I am looking for a westone or Electra, "I don't know which" Phoenix X185. I saw one on ebay listed as a Westone Electra Phoenix X185, but they wanted too much. Anybody have one for a better price. I do not know what they go for, just learning through this forum, $495.00 is too much. I really like the looks of them.

You considered joining the Electra forums? One might be found more easily over there as a couple of us are pretty diligent about posting online listings.

I have one myself and they are about as bulletproof as they come. Got it at a Music Go Round last year for under 2 bills and consider it one of my better steals as far as price goes for what I got in return.

In a later version as a Westone you would want to look for a Spectrum GT if my memory serves.

GT or LX, or if you want a set neck, the FX. They're all the same X185 but the Wstones have the Bendmaster bridges; the GT has the Precision 2 post floater and the other two the FT with stringlock. The poor old Phoenix generally seems to have a strat style trem, though some do come through with a 2 post floater...
