How many rock classics can you ruin in an hour. Just watch 'superstar' to find out.

I hope not....for all your sakes. It's Andrew LLoyd Webber and a group of "judges" trying to find a new "Jesus" for a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar that we the public get to pick for only £1 per phone vote (calls from mobiles may be more) plus your usual network charges, please ask billpayers permission..etc. etc.....all privates!
All I've heard of it is some truly awful "showy" style versions of some great songs.
privates, privates, privates, privates, privates, ooh, I Sky +'d Van Halen live.....there is hope

Rant over

Not to mention that, commuted atheist as I am, I find the whole format to be truly offensive to those who have their beliefs.

It's only a musical.

Never seen this Superstar thing and hope I never will.

If it's anything like the X factor or Britains got talent, god help us.

Although saying that an occasinal talent does emerge but the majority are an insult.

Sky arts have some good stuff.

Yeah, all this "musical" demon seed has been spread here and we're similarly afflicted with America's Got Talent, Canada's Got Talent, etc...

Truly the worst collection of rubbish "talent" fueled solely to fill commercial air time. C'mon now, what in hell makes it OK to inject a cherubic 6 year old into a million dollar contest? Or a gang of hip hop rappers grabbing their nether regions, or a dancing dog fer cryin' out loud...
Cr@p, cr@p, and cr@p.

Never ever watched any of that type of show, never ever will, so cannot comment, apart from observing that TV internationally seems to be full of dumbed down real life type shows, and bloody sport!

Where are the arts programmes? Thank the non specific deity of your choice for the BBC! Australian telly is like looking into the abyss....

I've bin' commenting on just this with my buddy Glenn for years now it seems, the increasing dumbing down of society. Reality shows? On what planet, pray tell?

And as I said to my workmate/boss recently, we're ironically living in the the most technologically advanced time in human history with the most astounding communications capability ever. And what's it used for? Walking around like neanderthals, head down, punching at a glass surface with our thumbs!? Twitter? Twit more like.

BTW what's the past tense of twit? (Think about it)

If they want to be Jesus they should see a shrink !!
Have a idea scratch
Why not change the format...
The ones that don't get through should be executed or crucfied there an then........
Throw the real no hopers thrown to the lions..
Let the others fight gladiators to get to the next round an do the same again till a winner is found..
Let him or her do the musical for the contracted time an then at last perfomance crucify them so they have the full jesus experience...

Maybe we should take over the nut house an show them how it is done...
True about artistic programing.. It's gone but bbc4 sometimes have a few good things on a friday night from 9:00 pm .....
If its not drunk on its back swearing its head off or murdering songs which we love or causing offence by breathing then it will never be on tv...

Rant over i think...
What ever happened to working hard to be something
or someone ???'?'
