I used to perform Take Five in bands; great piece!! Such a cool chord progression ...

He was still gigging until quite recently, too!!

He will be missed.

He was one of those people who was an integral part of the musical background of my life. Something haunting and visceral about the way his compositions grabbed ya. Unknown territory but somehow familiar at the same time. Vince Garibaldi's another one like that for me (Charlie Brown Christmas).

Damn, I hate getting old.
