From that selection I would definitely go with the silver, though I think standard uncovered black bobbins would look best,

It's a Carvin Californian Carved Top guitar.
The 11-pole pickups are a giveaway.

i like the look of the open bobbins in all black.... like the one i used on my Electra Phoenix

the carvin pickup sounds awesome! even split to single coil it sounds good.

Right on, it's a Carvin CT4m Classic Sunburst. I don't quite dig the zebra bobbins...

That is UNTIL I made this...

Thoughts? I know which one I'm leaning towards now, and I didn't like it till I saw it.

I've grown more tolerant lately.
I no longer care about scratches and dings on a guitar I thinking of buying, and I honestly don't have any preference at all from the choices given. Each look has something to say for it.
The only thing to consider is if/how pickup covers will change or limit the tone of the guitar.

I know its only my opinion and it doesnt count for much, but I dont think cream works at all with a sunburst body, straight black bobbins all the way for me Smile

i like black rings with nickel covers on humbuckers (like thunderIIA) and i think it goes with all the other hardware and makes a consistent counterpoint to the sunburst finish

Once again agree with Sgt.......but could possibly be swayed by cream rings 'n' black bobbins. Nice guitar but am I the only one that thinks that the top horn is a bit too long?

It's a unique shape, I like it. I think I'll buy cream rings AND chrome covers, that way I can experiment.

Wow that cool. The maple cap on this thing is HUGE, it's an inch. Carvin makes excellent geetars. And their flamed or quilted tops are the best in the industry.

If you want to drool, head to www.carvinguitars.com and check them out.
