thunder...?!

Post by silence86 on Fri Mar 06, 2009 6:16 pm

wtf?look at this thing:link

No serial-number,bolt-on neck and bendmaster deluxe tremolo...on a thunder II?

Could it be that this guitar(and the thunder bass in the other thread) are later models put together in Korea from parts that were left from the matsumoku-factory?

best wishes
hans

Who knows, apart from the bridge, stringlocks and H/S/S set-up it looks right, eh?! It could be the catch of the year if it's genuine...

This appears to be a Korean copy. Yes, a Korean copy. If you were stationed in south Korea in the 80's they would make a pretty good copy for you at a very low price. There were several differences such as lack of serial or random serials that did not match up. For example here....

Korean fake rail bass. This thunder looks like someone visiting Korea had it made on the cheap as evidenced by the splitting paint. Just my guess but I could be wrong.

If it goes cheaply enough, it'd be worth getting for the Bendmaster gear aboard!! Having a really close look at it, I reckon you guys are right - it's a copy, but not a bad one in regard to equipment used on it! The body doesn't appear to be all that flash under the paint, though....

I'd love to know what the p'ups are!! :?:
