Re: Early active gain circuitry

Sorry, I'm making this difficult aren't I   Smile
I have the 12 terminal 4pdt etc that goes with V1 in my guitar but no board or loom....but the board/loom that Clive has sent me is out of a V2 thunder as it has no 12 terminal 4pdt.
Can I simply take the red board out of Clive's V2 arrangement and use it in a V1 set up?

Ohhhh  crikey I don't know!
It looked identical to my gain board from the pics,  same op amp chip too,  so while I have absolutely no idea, I'd say definitely yes  Very Happy
Wire it all up and see,  shouldn't take too long,  I did mine really quick after worrying it was beyond me.

Laughing ...no idea but definitely yes..thanks pal..i think

I assume they are the same...but if they are why would they change it from V1 to V2 if V1 was considered better?...its questions like this that keep me up at night  Laughing

The wiring diagrams look easy to follow, so as long as the red board is the same in all 3 versions then I should be laughing.

Thanks for all the info gents, appreciated.

First of all a huge thanks for the help gents, especially Clive for sending me his spare circuit which is now installed and working....  So Happy

....in this.....

Not done anything to it yet apart from get the active circuit installed but looks pretty sweet already!
The active gain really works well in comparison to the on or off switch on my Thunder 1....still thunders but in a more controlled kinda fashion.  Cool

Good news and a cracking guitar,  glad you got your poop working,  now sort your knob out!   Those gretsch copies are decent but a tad pricey.
