Ads Blocking the Login Page --Unable to Login

Post by Barry on Fri Sep 02, 2016 10:06 pm

For those members using the Safari browser on an Apple based operating system (iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc) you have been unable to login recently because a large advertisement is covering the screen.

According to our host Forumotion, the problem is that the normal Google banner ads which run at the top of the page do not display correctly in the Apple operating systems. They become enlarged and cover up everything. Complaints have been coming in from all over the world in the past few days.

Forumotion claims to have contacted Google's advertisers and they are supposed to be changing the format of the ads so they behave themselves under iPad, iPhone, Mac, etc. They were supposed to have a correction in place by today so fingers crossed they "make it so".

The recommended interim solution is simply to switch to Firefox.

The irony of this post of course, is that if you are using Safari on an Apple product you won't be reading this and won't know what's going on until the problem's fixed. Or if you're clever enough to try another browser! geek

Hang in there, doesn't look like there's anything you can do to fix it yourself. Ain't technology just grand?
