What this Forum is About

Post by Barry on Tue Feb 21, 2017 11:32 am

Rationale
Maybe you're independently wealthy and can send your instruments to your local tech for repair.
Good for you! (swine rich person).

For most of us mere mortals, that ain't an option.
Eventually, you'll find yourself looking at something on your beloved guitar that needs attention and wondering if you can do something to fix it yourself.

Ideally, a guitar player should be comfortable with doing a string change and simple set up adjustment. There's lots of information on the wonderful world wide web about that. Go Google. Enjoy.

Beyond that, however, other things need doing from time to time. And if you don't do it, you'll have to pay someone else to do it, simple as that. Depending on the problem, and your skill level, it's surprising how many things you can handle yourself.

How we'd like to use this New Forum
Over the years our members have tackled just about everything there is to tackle concerning their Westones. Lots of threads scattered over several Forums contain little gems of information of benefit to many readers, but are often lost or forgotten. What a pity.

What we'd like to try here in this Forum is a consolidation of as many of those pearls of wisdom as possible. If you're the author of some of those posts or threads, please make a post here using a meaningful title, so it can be searched, a brief description and a link to the original post (no need to reproduce the entire thing thanks). Same thing if you stumble across something helpful written by somebody else while looking for something unrelated.

Please note that all posts now have a number, in the top left corner of your avatar. To make things more accurate and easy, just link to the specific post in a thread. Very handy if it happens to be a long thread.

Of course, if you have just come up with something new and would like to share it you can just write about it here too.

So let's hear about your tips, your tricks, and your tools!
