'Bucker on the 'bay

Post by norfolkngood on Thu Dec 31, 2009 11:07 am

Anyone looking for a MMK45 humbucker?

US ebay, item 180451004041, cheap at the moment. Being sold as suitable for an Aria or Vantage but I assume will replace any MMK 'bucker.

Dumb Mats question of the day...
Are the 45's configured differently for neck and bridge??
I've never seen any indications on mine as to position, just the MMK45 stamp.
Hey, inquiring minds want to know!

I'd like to replace the Schaller rail in my ST's bridge that I put in back in the 80's. (And yes, dumb ass that I was, I tossed the 45 away!)
Would this do?

Yes. And the values can vary from one type of guitar to another.... (coil tap/non coil tap etc) (According to people much more clever than I!!)

Yes you are, and yeah, it probably would!!

(Hey now! "Dumb ass" reference was in the past tense!)
OK, I put in a bid for the hot lil' bugger...fingers crossed, nobody needs it more than I do...scraping the bottom of the drawer for spare change now!

Hope it comes your way Barry, shame if it was wasted on one of those lesser guitars!

Cheers mate!
One day to go as I write...if I get it now, I'll end up paying almost as much for the %^&* shipping as the pup! (sigh)

Well wouldn't you know it...fell asleep at the switch and the warning email that someone had outbid me arrived too late.

Before I knew it, it was over. I was outbid...by $1.00! Went for US$29.90

I wouldn't fret about that, lad - I missed a Vantage 696-12 earlier this year by doing pretty much the same thing! And it went for about US$250... I was about to sell my first born to pay what I thought it would go for!!

*sigh*
